Hamburger Hill downloads for free from Wesware’s itch.io page. You pick Windows, macOS or Linux, choose to pay what you like or nothing and get a zip of about 375 to 405 MB. There is no browser version and no Steam page that we could find. On Linux there was no installer either: we unzipped the file and ran it. We downloaded the 0.8.3 Linux build this way on November 2, 2026 and played it with no internet connection. UBG76 does not host the game, so always take it from the official page linked in the sources below.

Where is the official Hamburger Hill download?

The official download is on Wesware’s itch.io page at weswaregames.itch.io/hamburger-hill. The game has appeared there since October 22, 2026, with the status In development. Several other games share the name, so check that the page shows Wesware as the author and calls the game a single-player military FPS. Our disambiguation guide lists the look-alikes.

Is Hamburger Hill free?

Yes. The page says “Name your own price”. Click Download Now, and itch.io offers to take a payment. You can enter any amount or skip the payment and go straight to the files, which is what we did. Paying is a way to support the developer and does not unlock anything extra that we could see.

Which file should I download?

Pick the zip for your system. These are the 0.8.3 files listed on November 2, 2026:

SystemFileSize
Windowshamburger-hill-0.8.3-windows.zip379 MB
macOShamburger-hill-0.8.3-macos.zip404 MB
Linuxhamburger-hill-0.8.3-linux.zip374 MB

New versions arrive often. The game went from 0.2.0 to 0.8.0 between October 22 and 31, 2026, so the version number and sizes may be higher when you visit. The update log lists each release.

What is inside the zip?

On Linux, the zip holds one file: a 1.4 GB program called “Hamburger Hill.x86_64”, with all the game data packed inside it. We had to mark it as executable before it would run. We did not test the Windows or macOS files, so we cannot say what their zips contain.

The game is made with the Godot engine, version 4.7, and draws with Vulkan. Our test machine had no graphics card and ran it through software rendering, which was slow but worked. A normal gaming PC should have no trouble.

What are the system requirements?

The itch.io page does not list any. What we can tell you comes from our own test. The game is built on Godot 4.7 and drew with Vulkan in our test, so we expect it to need graphics drivers with Vulkan support. The Linux build takes 1.4 GB on disk after unzipping. Our test machine had no graphics card at all and ran Vulkan in software: the game worked, but slowly, so treat that as the floor rather than a target. It needs no internet connection once downloaded.

What happens on first launch?

A red Hamburger Hill logo and a Loading bar appear first, with “© 2026 Wesware Game Studios” at the bottom, and then the main menu. On our software renderer the first load took about a minute. The game starts in a window. The Options, System tab switches the display mode, sets brightness and has five volume sliders.

Two other options are worth a look before you play. Violence on the Gameplay tab starts on High, so turn it down if you prefer less gore. Art Style switches between the newer Digitized sprites and the Classic look. Then try the Tutorial, which teaches the keys on a training range.

What if Hamburger Hill will not start?

Check these in order. The first two came up in our own test, and the rest are general advice.

  • Linux: the file will not run. Unzipping did not keep the executable flag for us. Mark “Hamburger Hill.x86_64” as executable in your file manager or with chmod, then start it again.
  • It sits on the loading screen. The first load took about a minute on our software renderer. Give it time before you close it. We only tested software rendering, so we cannot say how long it takes on a normal graphics card.
  • It does not start at all. The game draws with Vulkan, so update your graphics drivers. We could not test Windows or macOS problems, so check the itch.io page for reports or contact the developer there.
  • It runs slowly. We could not measure frame rates on our software renderer, so we have no tested setting to recommend. The 0.7.0 and 0.8.0 updates both list frame rate and performance work, so make sure you have the newest version.

Is the download safe?

Take it only from the official itch.io page. We ran it as a normal user in an isolated setup and saw nothing unusual, but we did not scan it with antivirus tools and cannot vouch for files from other sites. Copies on reupload sites may be old versions or something else entirely.

We found none. The game is published on Wesware’s itch.io page, and a Steam search for the name returned no store page on November 2, 2026.

Not to play. We ran the Linux build with no network access at all, and the campaign and Quick Play worked, and the tutorial started.
