# Circuit in DirtBound > Circuit is the DirtBound lap mode: you drive timed laps on a closed track, chase your best lap or the online record ghost and, when signed in, post your time to that circuit's leaderboard. DirtBound is made by Luke Baffait and Victor Boutros and is not the Dirtborn concept document, the Deathbound soulslike or Driftbound. Circuit is the DirtBound lap mode: you drive timed laps on a closed track, chase your best lap or the online record ghost and, when signed in, post your time to that circuit's leaderboard. The Circuit menu has three tabs. **Official** holds the [four official circuits](/wiki/dirtbound/circuits/): the built-in Kenney Circuit and three player-made tracks the developers promoted. **My circuits** lists the tracks you saved in the editor on this device. **Community** lists every other published circuit, with a search box and a star button on each card. Next to the list, the game shows the selected circuit's leaderboard. **Laps and the clock.** The lap timer starts when you cross the line. If a lap goes wrong, press R. On a circuit that does not reset you where you are: it sends you back to a point 5 seconds before the line so you start the lap again at speed, which the game calls a flying start. The HUD shows your current lap, your last lap, your best lap and the record. **Ghosts.** The pause menu has a Ghost switch. Set it to the online record and a see-through car drives the record lap with you, so you can see where you lose time. Turn the ghost off when you want a clean screen. **Leaderboards.** You can drive any circuit with no account, and your best lap stays in your browser. To appear on a leaderboard, sign in with Google from the main menu and pick a username of 2 to 20 characters. Your lap and its ghost are then checked by the server before they are ranked. A lap driven with the [secret booster](/wiki/dirtbound/guides/secret-booster/) is never counted. ## What are Circuit's stats in DirtBound? Sign in with Google from the main menu and choose a username. After that, your best laps on the selected circuit are sent to its leaderboard once the server has checked them. ### What does R do on a DirtBound circuit? It restarts the lap.
