How does Swipe hit?

Swipe is a Physical sweep around you. Its tooltip type hits every enemy within a radius of you, and the stored radius is 7 yards, with a base interval of 3 seconds. It needs no target, so it hits whatever reaches you, which suits a Druid who has chosen to fight in melee.

Where does Swipe fit in the Druid kit?

It is the area half of the Feral tree, while Shred is the single-target half. Swipe and Shred share most Feral talents, and the milestone Rake gives you both at the start of every run. The Dire Bear Form capstone then makes Swipe a defensive tool as well.

Which talents change Swipe?

Ferocity adds damage to Swipe and Shred over five ranks, and Predatory Strikes shortens Swipe’s cooldown over three ranks. Enrage gives you a chance to answer an enemy’s melee hit with a free Swipe. Rake, the Feral milestone at 10 points, adds 20% maximum health and 8% less damage taken, starts each run with Swipe and Shred and makes everything they hit bleed for part of the blow over 6 seconds.

Dire Bear Form, the Feral capstone at 30 points, adds 25% maximum health and 10% less damage taken. It also tears out a free Swipe every 3 seconds, and every enemy a Swipe hits heals you for 0.3% of your maximum health. You cannot take Cat Form with it. A bonus line in the client makes Swipe 50% wider with a bleed, though it does not name the source. The Rake bleed also helps with Stitches Get Stitches, the achievement for defeating Stitches in Duskwood with a bleed.
