What is Power Word: Shield in Azeroth Survivors?
Power Word: Shield is a Holy spell in the Priest spell pool of Azeroth Survivors, with a base interval of 12 seconds between casts.
How does Power Word: Shield work?
Power Word: Shield is a shield on yourself. Its tooltip says it absorbs the next stretch of damage you take, an amount set as a share of your maximum health, and that it is cast again once the shield breaks. The data stores 12 seconds for both its interval and its duration. It deals no damage at base.
Where does Power Word: Shield fit in the Priest kit?
The Priest has 170 base health, second lowest in the game, and this shield is one of only two spells in its pool that the game text ties to healing or absorbing, next to Renew. The class picker says as much: shields and heals keep you alive while pain spreads. The Discipline tree is where the shield grows.
Which talents change Power Word: Shield?
Improved Power Word: Shield makes it absorb more over three ranks, and Improved Inner Fire shortens its cooldown over three ranks. Divine Aegis, the Discipline milestone at 10 points, starts every run with the shield, and any shield on you that breaks bursts in holy light, striking every enemy within 10 yards for part of what it absorbed. Rapture, the milestone at 20 points, raises a broken Power Word: Shield again at once, at most once every 15 seconds.
Put together, Divine Aegis and Rapture make the shield both a defense and an attack: every time the horde breaks it, it hits back. A separate bonus line in the client makes a broken shield explode on everything within 8 yards, but its source is not named in the data.
