How does Magma Totem work?
Magma Totem uses the game’s totem tooltip: it drops a totem beside you once enemies are within 25 yards, and the totem then deals Fire damage to every enemy within 10 yards of it on a fixed beat. It stands for 12 seconds, and its base interval is also 12 seconds, so one totem is due as the last one ends. You do not aim it.
Where does Magma Totem fit in the Shaman kit?
It is the area half of the Shaman’s totem play, while Searing Totem shoots single targets from range. The picker calls the class one with totems that fight beside you, and a Restoration capstone builds a whole run around this totem.
