Find The Cool Dude is a hidden object incremental game where you search a moving pixel crowd to find the cool dudes hiding in it and buy upgrades. Find The Cool Dude is made by ARD_215. UBG76 is not its developer or official site. Find The Cool Dude opens on the developer's itch.io page because it cannot be embedded on other sites.
The jam theme was "People Watching," and the game takes it literally. You look down on a crowd of pixel people wandering around a street, and somewhere in that mess is one guy who is cooler than everyone else. Your job is to find him. Then find him again. Then find him in a crowd ten times the size.
The idea will feel familiar if you grew up with Where's Wally books, and the developer says so openly. What makes Find The Cool Dude different is the layer on top. Every person you click counts as an observation, and observations are money. You spend them on upgrades that make each click worth more, widen the area you can scan and make idle crowds pay out while you think. It borrows that numbers-going-up feeling from games like Egg Inc and A game about feeding a black hole, which the developer lists as inspirations.
ARD_215 made the game for SA Game Jam 2026, a jam hosted by Free Lives on itch.io, and finished it in under 72 hours. The itch.io page says no AI tool was used for the art, code or writing. It runs in Unity and uses GPU instancing so the crowd can grow to huge numbers of walking people without the browser choking.
A run moves through three levels. You start on the Street, move to the Park and finish on the Beach, and each new level asks you to find more cool dudes in a denser crowd. Clearing a level also gives you a permanent payout multiplier for the rest of the run. It is a short jam game, so you can see the whole thing in one sitting. That is part of the appeal. Find The Cool Dude is quick, a bit silly and very easy to start.

Click people in the crowd to earn observations, find the hidden cool dudes to clear each level and spend what you earn on upgrades.
Click anywhere in the crowd. Every person inside your click radius counts as observed and pays out observations, the game's currency. The crowd also earns a small passive income on its own.
One guy in the crowd is the target. When you click him you hear a cha-ching, he goes flying and you collect his bounty. Find enough of them and the level is complete.
Spend observations on the upgrade panel to boost payouts, click radius and focus. Once a level is cleared, click the Level Complete banner to head to the next area with a permanent multiplier.
The fun is a Where's Wally search with an incremental engine under it, so every click pays out while the crowd keeps getting bigger.
The Street starts with about a hundred people. Keep playing and it swells to well over a thousand, so the cool dude gets harder to spot the richer you get.
You can pick people up with the mouse and fling them across the screen. It is useful for clearing a messy patch and honestly pretty fun on its own.
Sharper Pencil, Wider Gaze, Casual Watching and Deep Breaths are only the start. Buy enough upgrades and new ones unlock, like Binoculars, Fisheye Lens and Cool Dude Bounty.
Street, Park and Beach each ask for more cool dudes. Clearing the Park and the Beach stacks permanent x5 and x20 payout boosts on top of your upgrades.
Holding the mouse button sweeps a wide area at once. It drains a focus meter that slowly refills, so you choose when to burst and when to pick carefully.
Every sprite and line of code was made during a jam weekend, and the itch page notes that no generative AI was used.
It suits hidden object fans and clicker players who want a short, silly game they can finish in one sitting.
If you liked hunting for Wally as a kid, Find The Cool Dude scratches the same itch with a crowd that actually moves and refuses to sit still.
The upgrade panel gives every click a purpose. Watching your payout per person climb from 1 into the hundreds is the kind of progress clicker fans enjoy.
It is a jam game, so there is no long tutorial and no account. Open it on itch.io, click around and you will know within a minute whether it is for you.
Sweep the crowd in rows, buy Wider Gaze early and save your focus for the densest parts of the crowd.
Sweep in strips. Do not stab at random spots. Work across the crowd in rows, left to right, so you never check the same patch twice. In a big crowd this finds the cool dude far faster.
Buy Wider Gaze early. A bigger click radius means more people observed per click and a better chance of catching the target. It is cheap at the start and caps out quickly, so grab it first.
Save focus for dense crowds. Holding to sweep burns focus. Use it when the crowd is packed and every sweep covers a lot of people, then let it recharge while you click normally.
Toss people to clear a view. If a cluster of walkers is stacked on top of each other, grab a few and throw them aside. It opens up the spot so you can check whether the cool dude was hiding underneath.
Yes. Find The Cool Dude is a free browser game published by its developer ARD_215 on itch.io. There is nothing to buy and you do not need an account. The play button sends you to the itch.io page, where it runs in your browser.
No. It is an HTML5 build made in Unity that runs in your browser tab. There are no download files on the itch page at all, so playing online is the only way to play it.
Click people in the crowd to observe them and earn observations. Find the hidden cool dude to collect a bigger bounty. Spend what you earn on upgrades and click the Level Complete banner to move from the Street to the Park and then the Beach.
There are three: Street, Park and Beach. The Street asks for 5 cool dudes, the Park for 10 and the Beach for 15. Clearing the Park and the Beach also gives you permanent x5 and x20 payout multipliers.
Yes, on purpose. The developer describes it as a Where's Wally style game, the same series North American readers know as Where's Waldo. The itch.io description even calls the targets "wallys." The difference is that the crowd moves and your clicks feed an incremental upgrade system.
Yes. On a phone, itch.io says the game is not designed for your device, but it runs after you tap Run game. A tap observes people, holding a finger sweeps an area and tapping an upgrade card buys it.
It was made by a developer who goes by ARD_215 for SA Game Jam 2026, hosted by Free Lives on itch.io. The developer finished it in under 72 hours and says no AI tool was used in the art, code or writing.
Not always. Some sharp-eyed players have found every cool dude without leaning on upgrades, and the developer replied that anyone that fast does not need them. For most people the upgrades make the bigger crowds much easier to handle.
